Its kinda big but I would love that to be translated. Aside from that do you have any advice for a novice japanese learner for progression moving forward?
I’m not privy to what every translator’s doing, but I assume someone’s working on it. It’s also in my backlog, but my backlog is gigantic, so no clue when I’d get to it lol
For Japanese, I can only really say I’ve done:
1. Start with the basics. Learn your kana.
2. Consider some sort of formal classroom education, at least to grasp the fundamentals of grammar and kanji. If that’s not possible, still pick a grammar book (ex: Minna no Nihongo, Tae Kim’s Guide, Genki, etc.) You’ll need some sort of structured guidance to start off. There’s also plenty of lessons on YouTube and shit.
3. As you go along, integrate kanji and vocab into your learning. Start slow, but be consistent. A SRS is the best way to go about it. See Anki decks (like 10k), or paid options like Wanikani.
4. Consume Japanese content once you knows the basics. This can be quite literally anything. News, vtubers, anime, manga (ex: anything with furigana in it like Yotsuba&!), shows, movies, books. Just immerse yourself as much as possible.
Thx for the info regarding the doujin and a big thx for the advice, im currently working on my thesis for my MSc but i figure just after would be the best time to start actually grinding for japanese since im passionate about mangas , I plan to use lingodeer to refresh and solidify my kana’s afterwhich taekim for the grammer as a start. I hope at some point I can actually get good enought to just use translating as practice ☺️

Hello, I really did enjoy your translation style when you worked on my favorite artist MosquitoMan “Ricchan”. For a non-Japanese reader/speaker I got all the nuances thanks to you. I know you don’t take requests but, out of all the translators that did MosquitoMan’s work. I enjoyed yours the best. The style is clean and flows with the doujin. MosquitoMan just released his newest work and bought it quickly(had to use a VPN) on DMM but, can’t enjoy it fully since I can’t read Japanese. Find a server provider, buy a domain name, set your website up using a site management platform – usually provided by the hosting company (I’m lazy so here I just used the WordPress plugin.) There’s a few more steps you’ll have to Google (like SSL certificates), but it’s more annoying than complicated.
I liked your translation for “[Puranpuman] Nandemo Yurushichau Riimu-chan | Riimu is Down for Anything”. Are you planning on translating the second part?

I started out as a way to practice my Japanese. Just a few projects here and there at first, but then I just really got into it.

For moans, SFX, and whatnot, I don’t use fonts. Everything is lettered by hand using a tablet.
